Kiln is Heating Back Up in the Bisque Update!

Our Bisque Update is hot out of the Kiln (handle with care) and we can’t wait to tell you all about it!

We have a new cre­ative mode, play­er host­ed servers, cus­tom games, cool new cos­met­ics, and more!

New Mode: Dai­ly Throw

Wel­come to the Dai­ly Throw, our brand new cre­ative game mode for Kiln!

You all have blown us away with your pot mak­ing skills, and we know that there was a cre­ative itch that need­ed to be scratched — Besides, there’s noth­ing quite like cre­at­ing some­thing that oth­ers can’t wait to steal! Now you have the chance to scratch that itch — daily! 

Find a brand new pedestal, right next to the wheels in the Wedge, where a dai­ly prompt awaits, ready to chal­lenge your cre­ativ­i­ty and skill on the wheel. This is a whole new way to earn Chips and XP too, so be sure to drop by every day!

Make sure your pot is per­fect, then sub­mit it so that oth­er play­ers can give you rib­bons. Give rib­bons of your own to your favorites! Then rake in the Chips when you make some­thing that real­ly appeals to your fel­low pot fiends. You can always look back at your most suc­cess­ful past pots in your own per­son­al gallery too!

Now onto some­thing a lit­tle less glam­orous, but still quite exciting… 

Servers Have Changed

We’re back to being indie indie, so our servers are indie now too (that means it’s you!). We offi­cial­ly have Play­er Host­ed Servers! What does this mean for you though? 

We now have Par­ty host­ed lob­bies — that means that you and up to sev­en of your clos­est friends will now be able to par­ty up and share a lob­by togeth­er between match­es! Shar­ing your brand new, legal­ly dis­tinct car­toon dog pot is now eas­i­er than ever!

Note: This does mean you won’t nor­mal­ly see oth­er play­ers in the lob­by unless you’ve par­tied up – we’re look­ing at alter­na­tives to improve this expe­ri­ence and bring that con­nec­tion and shar­ing in the lob­by back!

We now have Host Migra­tion — Basi­cal­ly, if your host leaves, don’t wor­ry! Your lev­el will reload, but you should be placed back into the match after a moment.

Along with these serv­er changes, we have anoth­er new addition… 

Cus­tom Games Are Here

Along­side being able to form full eight play­er par­ties, you can now set up games for your party! 

You can also choose your team make­up, includ­ing how many bots to include in the fight. Go form teams and final­ly learn which team of four is the true pot champion!

But, wait, there’s more! 

Week­ly Quests

Week­ly Quests have entered the vil­la Kiln. From cre­ative tasks on the Wheel, to fight­ing your spirit’s heart out in Quench, com­plete these every week to earn extra Chips and XP!

And what will you do with all of these new ways to earn Chips? Well, make more pots of course. With that comes a very, very cru­cial update…

An Updat­ed Collection

You can offi­cial­ly hold even more pots in your col­lec­tion! You can hold up to 80 pots now (final­ly, I can recre­ate my top 80 pots from video games). Plus, the col­lec­tion is scrol­lable now— no more pesty clicking!

Final­ly, you’ll notice that your top shelf appears a lit­tle dif­fer­ent­ly – now any pots on your top shelf also appear in your collection. 

Mak­ing all of these dif­fer­ent pots though, we want to make sure you’re keep­ing track of what each of them is capa­ble of… 

All New Pot Journal

Intro­duc­ing your handy, dandy pot jour­nal! In your jour­nal, you will be able to see all of the dif­fer­ent arche­types for each size of pot, see which you’re miss­ing and your indi­vid­ual stats for that par­tic­u­lar arche­type. Also, nev­er again will you need to ask your­self, ​“which pot was the pad­dle ball again?” (Or was that just me?)

Espe­cial­ly for our achieve­ment hunters, we hope that this helps you keep track of which pots you’ve made on the wheel and which you’ve yet to try out!

For those of you that have been fol­low­ing along with our updates and roadmap, you also know that we have two new god­ly loca­tions enter­ing the pantheon.

Two New Maps

Wel­come to Poseidon’s Bub­ble Bath, a brand new map with a ton of ver­ti­cal­i­ty. You’ll find Bub­ble Bounc­ers ready to lift you between lev­els, but beware of the ter­ri­fy­ing Clam resid­ing between the two Kilns — it has a nasty bite! 

Next up is a vis­it to Ra’s Sun­shine Nurs­ery. Enjoy the play blocks, the rock­ing camel and cozy crib… It’s all fun and games until a giant, flam­ing sun knocks your pot off the map! Beware of the rolling suns, espe­cial­ly as you head down the ramp to Ra’s main water source oppo­site of the Kilns!

More fight­ing means more expe­ri­ence, and more expe­ri­ence means… 

New Lev­el Cap

We have added TEN new lev­els, increas­ing the lev­el cap to 60! In these, you’ll find new attach­ments, new stick­ers, and new glazes! Even more pot mak­ing pos­si­bil­i­ties await.

We also have some good news for those who were hop­ing for even more decorations…

We can’t promise specifics, since we’re in the wild west world of indies now, but we’re work­ing on sev­er­al things for our next update includ­ing some new ways to play, and a new way for you to con­nect and save your account. We have so appre­ci­at­ed everyone’s sup­port in the last few months. Every­one ask­ing after Kiln has been so incred­i­bly patient, and we can­not thank you all enough for your love of our pot­tery par­ty brawler.
